REDNECK MULTI-TASKING, BATH AND MOPPING

Sunday was so fun, Angela and the boys come over! They played in the pool and on the trampoline and had water war with the blaster squirt guns! There was water everywhere. It was such a hot day and watching them have fun in the pool and getting us wet was such fun for them. After we went into the house last night Blake (8) discovered that he could slide on my kitchen floor. With all the water it was really slippery! After a few slides head first into the cabinets, it got to be pure entertainment! Angela put a few drops of dish soap on the floor and Blake came in sliding like he was sliding into home base! Bam! We were all laughing so hard. Even Angela was slipping and falling. I got a good video of it. What good fun! I call it REDNECK MULTI-TASKING, MOPPING THE FLOOR AND GIVING THE KIDS THEIR BATH ALL WHILE HAVING A GOOD TIME!!!

Sorry, I tried to turn this but it didn't work. It's still fun to watch!

Thankful Thursday

Today my goal was to be positive in a very negative area. I have always tried to be happy and positive, but when you are around this attitude all the time it starts to wear on you. My goal is to not let it get to me and pull me down.

Today I am thankful for the great Northwest. The beauty here is breathtaking! We have the majestic mountains and Water everywhere. The trees are green and even the weeds are pretty! Our air quality isn't full of smog for the most part, just pollen, but it's still pretty good. I love the places that you can go camp and hike and see the beautiful creation. When we have blue skies, it is gorgeous! Now I know I have complained about our clouds, but it makes you thankful when we do get the blue skies!

I am also thankful that God has given me a 2nd chance on life and that I don't have to be perfect, that I can be forgiven and live in peace.

I am thankful for laughter. It really is a great medicine.

Childlike Faith!

Checkout Jason's blog if you have time. It is an awesome writing about the faith of a child.
Read my comment on there and see what happened when my children were very little, that
made me see it for myself!

WWS Sighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in my kitchen
after work last night
and something caught
my eye outside my kitchen window.................

I got a closer look through
my rose bush and there it was..........

The visitor was on my chair..........

and in my little porch garden!!!!!

Yes, it was a pleasant sighting of this mystery Western Washington Sunshine (WWS)
It catches us off guard here in Washington when the sun does appear. For example, when a lady I talked to yesterday from Texas is in her kitchen window I doubt very much if looking out her window she is shocked by seeing our visitor there. But in Washington, it's a very different experience. At work we are just minding our own business doing our work when all of a sudden this visitor appears and it takes our breath away and we make comments like "Look the sun is trying to shine" "Wow, it's a clear sky!" Ten minutes later, it's "Where did the sun go? I thought it was supposed to be nice today?" So you see that here in Washington when the rare visitor appears, it's party time! Get out the suntan lotion and put a shrimp on the barbie because it's summertime. Then it's time to go back to work because your break is over and the clouds have come back! Well, we are thankful for these special visitors that are borrowed from those sunshine states! They just take it for granted having this special visitor, but in Washington we LOVE our visitor and we will ALWAYS love and appreciate it everytime it comes, even if it is just for a moment!

TRAINING....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Ok everyone needs training.... some more than others. Husbands need training, dogs and cats need training, children, drivers, divers, doctors, lawyers and even birds! Where is this going? Well, today I am in training.... it's all good! I have taken my caffeine pill since I don't drink coffee... hey, you coffee drinkers think nothing of getting your boost to start your day, so don't be so quick to condemn me for taking a pill form of coffee beans!!! It works and that is what counts. So, here we go.... time to get started!

I'm a STAR!!!

I'm a STAR on my son's radio station in Florida!!! He put a picture on his web site of me!!! I am doing a weekly spot of poetry, which is really just lyrics to a song that I pretend to write. His callers guess the song and artist. I love it. It is so fun to be a part of his part of the world.
Check it out!!! The picture is an old picture of me, but he thought it was a sassy picture!!! I must keep up my image!!!

Grandkids!

Great weekend with grandsons! What can be better than you grandkids telling you that you are their favorite grandma? Come on now.... NOTHING!!! If you aren't there yet... just you wait! It's a secret hormone that God doesn't tell you about until you are there. You think that you don't want to be called grandma, until you hear that little offspring from you own child, calling you grandma, or say, "i wuv ew gammma" I tell you that it melts you heart! There aint nothin better! Riley and Blake clung to me like barnacles on pilings! They didn't want to go anywhere unless it was with grandma! I even got kisses in front of Riley's friend! Angela said she doesn't get kisses in front of his friends, but I got em! They know how to work me though. Let's go to ToysRUS...uh huh! Grandma will get what we want! These kids have so many toys, it's unreal. I tried to help them be thankful for the abundance that they have. I love how they listen to me. I heard Blake demanding to his mother and I talked to him about that and his big eyes looking up at me and he said I'm sorry grandma and he went and told his mommy he was sorry. Good choice sweetie!!

I am very thankful for my husband. He decided that I needed to have hand rails put up our two stair cases due to my bad knee. It was so sweet of him to even think of doing that! I am hoping that after my surgery in two weeks that I won't need them, but it was awesome that he even thought of it without me asking!
The funny thing is that my husband is NOT a handyman! He does not do mechanical things at all and he hates having to put things together or do anything crafty! He measured wrong and cut off too much of the rail and had to take it off that wall and put it on the shorter wall and he was SO frustrated. He didn't like the stud finder and thought it didn't work, but it was just that he didn't know how to use it! It was all forgotten when the job was done, but I thought I would go nuts before it was done! I was very proud of him AFTER the job was done!
One time he decided that he was going to caulk our window outside because it was leaking. He was out there quite a while and I about died laughing when he came inside. He was covered from head to toe with white caulk. I asked why he had it all over himself. He showed me the caulking gun and it had oozed out from every seam but the end where it should have come from.... HE DIDN'T CUT THE TIP OFF THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crafts are NOT his thing and that was a craft!! I will never forget how funny that was, even though he was trying so hard to be a handyman! I am thankful for him inspite of the fact that he isn't all that handy. He makes up for it in his love and his sacrifice for me. He is a good man and I am blessed!

Destruction Derby

I love going to the destruction derby! Nothing like seeing cars and trucks smash into each other on purpose! They run lap races and time trials, figure 8's, rollover contest and my favorite, the last car standing finale! You can smell the leaking gas, watch as the firemen put out the bursts of fire, feel the rumble of the engines as they attempt to stay running, feel the excitement of the crowd and enjoy the food from the vendors. Last week there was a women that won 1st place in 3 races!!! Yeah for women drivers! Where else can a woman driver speed, drive crazy, crash into people and not get pulled over for it? This Saturday is another derby and I'm excited that the weather is going to maybe be better than the last one. It was raining, cold and windy. The mud was so thick on the track and we were sitting on the front row. When they came flying and sliding around the corner the mud flew. It's a good thing that our seats were about 12-15 feet up or we would have looked like little pigs in a pig sty! If you have never tried this sport, you must give it a go....it's very entertaining! Even discount tickets are available!

Vintage Restoration

A few weeks ago I spoke at a vintage trailer gathering about restoration. I love vintage cars and how people restore them into such beautiful condition. I talked about how many people see an old car like this sitting in someones back field and talk about the "junk" in that back yard. I don't see them as junk. I look at them and see what it can become. Someone said to me that some are just too far gone to even try to fix, but I don't believe that. I relate this to life. I have been working with a young lady since she was in 8th grade and now 34 years old. She came from a extremely dysfunctional family life and has been going down the spiral of life to the point that she has given up on life. She is a cutter, user, violent and every other abuse she can try to cover the pain in her life. I see her like this car. Every one looks at her like she is too beat up to try to fix up. Too damaged, too far gone, no hope! I can't think that way. She needs someone who won't tell her it's too late. She needs someone who will care and love her even though she doesn't care if she lives or dies. I believe that God looks at us this way. He sees beyond what we have become no matter how wasted we are or how low we go. He sees the value of what we can become and doesn't give up on us. So when I look at this old car I see a car that has been used and abused, but I see what it can become with the help of someone who cares and loves it and will work with it until it is restored. When these cars are restored then people see the beauty in it again. Some of the scars are still there just like in our lives, but it reminds us of where we have been and helps us to remember where we have come from. So try to look at life through God's eyes and know that He will bring us through anything we face and if we allow Him to restore us, He can bring beauty out of the junk of our life.

FRONT PORCH

I love sitting on my front porch after work, even though there is a ton of traffic going by, it is so nice to just sit out there and watch the birds fight over their food and take a dip in their pool of water and take a bath! We BBQ burgers and sat at the table and talked for a spell. The sun was shinning, (for a change) and it just made me happy. My flowers are blooming in my flower pots and my strawberry's are starting to take off. Larry doesn't like my little patio garden, but I LIKE IT and it makes me happy. Last night one of the little birds hit the kitchen window and it stunned the poor little girl. She let me pick her up and hold her and didn't even want me to put her down. Took about 20 minutes for her to get it together and fly off.... yeah she was OK. I think about how the Bible says that God knows when one of the little birds go down and that HE cares for us even more than the birds. As I thought about how I felt sorry for the little bird I was reminded of how much more God cares for me when I fall and make bad choices, HE picks me up and cares for me and shows me love. That's awesome! I needed to be reminded of that!

After 3 years of our work center being a center for everyone to come get candy, I have declared it a "candy free zone" This will be interesting as it has always been there. A few people put in the donation cup, but it never covers even half the cost of the candy. I quit! We don't need it anyway. They can GET THEIR OWN STINKING CANDY! I made a sign, "Due to the rising cost of gas and the salmonella scare... we are not providing candy at this time" Well, we shall see how people react to this! It will probably send them into heart failure and emotional therapy! People are so used to this being provided for them! This will cause trauma, I'm sure!

Father's Day!

What I wouldn't give to have my Father here and be able to spend the day with him and give him hugs. It has been since 1980 since my Father passed away. It seems like a million years ago, but I remember him as if it was yesterday. He was such an awesome dad. I don't ever remember him raising his voice and he was the most kindest person ever. He would help any one in need and he would sacrifice everything he could to help out. I remember him gathering up food many times to take to families. He loved his only girl, ME!! He loved music and played so many different instruments. He loved God with ALL his heart and he loved to pray and read the Bible. If I could only be half what he was, I would be happy. I remember one time when I was out on a very late date. I came home and he was walking in the dark in the front yard praying for me. He never said a word, just went to bed. He will forever be in my heart. I love you, dad.
I hope all of you who still have your dad's will give them an extra hug because you still have them. And if your husband is a dad, well, appreciate him all you can.
I am not going to go to the camp out this weekend,
It's not that I don' t want to go camping, but it's just that I know how my knee is feeling and I know that I will come back hurting worse. It was a tough choice. So, I guess I will be stuck at home doing boring things.... We will see. It is Father's Day on Sunday, so we will celebrate Father's Day for Larry.

1. Thankful that it is Thursday

2. Thankful that it is almost Friday

3. Thankful that the next two days after Thursday are the weekend and we don't have to work! Yes, that is a great thing to be thankful for today!

This is funny!

This made me laugh out loud!!!

A NOT SO GOOD WEDNESDAY!!!!

Wednesday was not such a good day for me! Our computer system is taking MY name and doing weird things that I am not doing.... it has been very frustrating and I LOST IT TODAY! I am so thankful for my friends that comforted me. YOU ARE AWESOME! It didn't help that I was in a lot of pain from my knee. I had to leave early to go to a Doctor appointment. I was glad to go home. I hate getting emotional at work because it is so hard to get it back together!!!!

UNBELIEVABLY STUPID WEB PAGES

Here is another UNBELIEVABLY STUPID WEB PAGE

HOW TO EAT ROCKS!

Now when I saw this I thought, no way! There it was telling the readers to start small!!!

............Bits and pieces from this site........
"Almost as important as size are shape and texture. Avoid rocks with rough, jagged edges and irregular shapes. Go with smooth oval or spherical shaped rocks. I always take beginners to the nearest beach or river - these are excellent sources of small, smooth, rounded rocks. Even with a perfectly shaped rock, remember what Mom said at the table- Don't gulp your food! It's not a race!" "Fourthly, and this may sound a little silly, but be sure it's a rock. I know this seems obvious, but you'd be surprised at what you find on the ground these days, especially in more urban areas. Many's the time I've seen a newbie pop what they thought was a delicious rock in their mouth only to then spit out in disgust a chunk of brick, concrete, asphalt, or cinder block. Yuck! In more suburban areas, be alert for such misleading objects as dirt clods, charcoal briquettes, and discarded urinal disinfectant cakes. "

Tomato Recall

Today at lunch we ate our salads that we had delivered. After seeing how wimpy they were, we were delivered additional salad. They had sliced tomatoes in them and we all ate them. After lunch Jayar was on the radio talking about the tomato salmonella outbreak. My stomach had begun to cramp and I mentioned it to Sam and she had had the same reaction but hadn't said anything. I text Jayar on the radio in Florida, and he started talking about us here in Bremerton getting sick from our salads. It was pretty funny, even though our stomach were churning. I did notice that the salads had a weird smell. We will have to note this and see if this happens other times when we order salads from there.

UNBELIEVABLY STUPID WEB PAGES

I found this book at Barnes and Nobel and thought it would make good blogger material, so here goes....

Ever had problems with cats climbing on your keyboard and messing things up? If so, head over to this odd site.
Someone put a lot of effort into a product with an extremely limited use. Stupid. Very Stupid.

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!

It's almost the middle of June and all we have been getting is nothing but rain and gray sky......... enough already! Bring on the sunshine! Still too cold to sit out on my porch without lighting the fire! Come on, how are we supposed to get our camping in when it's threatning rain? My boys keep talking about their 85 to 90 plus degree weather in Florida and Illinois and it's making me so jealous!

Blown out knee!

I have been having trouble with my knee for sometime now, and I don't know what I did the last few days that made it worse, but it is very painful and hard to walk. I kicked something and thought I would die for the pain! Can't get an appointment for another 10 days! SUCKS!!! At this stage of my life the old bones and joints are getting worn out! Must be from all that housework! Maybe I should let go of some of that and teach LarBear to do it for me! HA, like that is going to happen!

Movies this weekend

On Friday, my day to myself, I enjoyed going to a movie of my choice. LarBear always decides what movie is good or not by reading all the reviews. I wanted to go to a movie of my choice without knowing ANYTHING at all about it or what the review said. I went to see Baby Momma! It was very cute and funny. Not a movie that was going to be a big blockbuster, but it was very enjoyable! Then we went to see Narnia after the D-Derby! It was awesome! I loved the first one and this was just as good! Great lessons in it too!

Great Weekend

It was a very nice weekend! Friday, all to myself, just doing stuff around the house and then a little shopping! Saturday LarBear and I went to a Destruction Derby! I love going to these. It's crazy, but I grew up with all brother and lots of cars. I admit that I am a lead foot, and watching cars race around the track crashing into each other is quite a thrill for me! Then there is the roll over contest where they roll the car on purpose and get points for each side that they hit. a complete rollover is 4 points! Then there is the fire on the track and the siren goes off and everyone comes running to put out the fire and make sure every one is ok. The green flag waves and off they go again. The figure 8 race is always a trill with 8 to 10 cars going around and barely missing each other, or not! With all the rain we had this weekend, the track was oozing with mud! We were on the front row and got to see the mud flying right in front of us as the cars came sliding around the corner. It was amazing that they were able to get out of it. There goes another car without it tire, amazing how they keep going, but out on the road we can't move with that flat tire!! The throphy girl gets out of the fancy truck to give the muddy driver the throphy and a big hug, gets back into the truck and checks out her WHITE jacket to see if he got mud on her!!!! WHITE? REALLY? The last event of the night is all out craziness! About 20 cars come out and the green flag waves and it's last car moving is the winner. They show no mercy and by the time it's all over the cars are so mangled, then the tow trucks come out and sort out the mess. All of a sudden a car will start up with smoke rolling out from the hood and it moves, the crowd cheers as one survives and is able to drive off the track on its own!!! Crazy entertainment, but I love it!

Thankful Thursday

OK, it's time I got on board with the Thankful Thursday thing, so here goes....

1. I am thankful for my children. We had a worker's only child at age 30 died on Sunday and it hit me that I would be a mess if I lost my daughter, who is 30. I just wanted to go see her and just hug her and love on her. My other two live out of state and so I called them and just loved on them too.

2. I am thankful for a very loving husband that lives and breaths for me. Wow, it's sometimes a bit much, but I am so very thankful for his love for me and how he sacrifices every day for me.

3. I am thankful for my job even though most days I still would rather be doing something else.

4. I am thankful for our home. It's so big without all the kids now, but I still love being there. I love being able to paint and do projects!

5. I am thankful for my friends at work and other friends that enrich my life. I love how my friends know when I am down and are there for me. That means the world to me. I love to laugh with my friends...that's what gets us through the day!

6. I am thankful for my princess cat, Sofie! She is so precious to me and I love her so much. She loves to sleep with me... sorry Lar, but the princess gets all the snuggles!! Well, most of the time!

Glitz and Glitter

Found this web page from Amy's blog.... I love these girls! I love glitter and things that sparkle! Check it out! http://www.otttd.blogspot.com

Obsessed with Pink

Yes, I LOVE Pink! I love pink flowers, pink shoes, pink nail polish and dishes with pink flowers or pink Betty Boop! I think pink is so pretty and I would have a room with pink and white if Lar Bear wouldn't object, but I don't think he would go for that! I love to wear pink with black. Jewelry looks really good with pink too.... what doesn't look good in pink? Well, that could be a good one to think about! Hmmmm ..... I decided to google a graphic for this blog and I found something that made me laugh because it is something that does NOT look good in pink..... Agree? That is just NOT right!!!

Bike Accident

CAR CRASHES THROUGH BIKE RACE IN MEXICO.........
I feel for these people as I know what it's like to be flying through the air with the greatest of ease, with bike flying and then the landing! Oh, the landing! What is sad is that one person died and 10 people were injured. The driver of the car was drunk and fell asleep! If only people who drink will just STAY OFF THE ROAD!
I am more sure than ever that I don't want to ever ride a bike again!
Maybe the one in our work our room is ok, at least I can't be hit by a car or have the fear that the handle bars are going to come off. I think I will stick with that.

Life Long Freinds

I love talking to old friends...there are just some people that will forever mean so much to you. Even if you haven't talked to them for years, when you see or talk to them it's like no time has passed. Relationships with people are really important to me and once a friend always a friend. I talked to an old friend that I haven't seen for quite a while and it was so refreshing. Then an old coworker that has been gone for 9 years and it was so nice to catch up with life. Then on Saturday I attended a memorial for an old friend of our family that passed away. Our families grew up together and my mom even wore her wedding dress and they both had 5 kids. I loved visiting them through the years. It was good to see all the kids even though it was under those circumstances. It's good to be there for them. Two of my brothers came as well. My best friend growing up was there. So this weekend was really like stepping into the past. I am very thankful for all these friends that have enriched my life.
