Funny Friday Episode

Angela is experiencing her dogs in heat! It has made Blake ask the question , "Is that the way adults do it?" She is having to tell the parents of the kids she watches that they may have to answer some questions!!! She said that all this mating has made her exhausted! She even asked her husband if it has made him a bit jealous? NOW THAT WAS FUNNY!!! I talked to Blake and Riley about having a contest to guess how many puppies their Maggie will have. I have guessed only 3, Lar guessed 4, Angela 6, Blake 4, but Riley has guessed a thousand! I told him that Maggie might have a hard time feeding a thousand puppies and that he might re-think his numbers, but he is sticking with a thousand puppies!!! Well, we shall see in about 62 days... more on this as this progresses!!! I love to laugh about what kids say... I keep telling young mothers that they need to keep a book of funny things their children say. It is great material when you children are older! So today as I think about Funny Friday, Frolicking Dogs in Heat and Angela's thoughts on the matter, is a good Friday Funny!

Abusive Brother Episode

I have 4 brothers, 3 older and one younger. Our oldest brother was very mean to us. One time when I was about 7 or 8, I had to stand on a step stool to do dishes. I had a dress on and he came up behind me with a lit candle and caught my dress on fire! He just yelled at me "well, get outside and roll on the ground you stupid idiot"! NICE!! Now I have to tell you all that to this day I do not let him live this down. Just this weekend at our camp out, someone was talking to us about our growing up with 4 boys and a girl.... I just looked at him and laughed. He knew what was coming...yes... I love to tell the story any chance I get. He knows that I love him, but he knows that he will always have to make up to me over and over again!!! He also forced another brother to sit on tacks that were turned up on a chair! Chased a brother with a pitch fork into a bee's nest. I tell him that all his meanness will come back to him with his own kids. Wow, how true that became! Poor guy! Like I told Sam.... the story is a great story for ME to tell, but when I look at him, he knows that this is his payback!!!! Did I mention the fire that he set in the desert? Ah huh....the cops scared the daylight right out of him that day! He thought he was going to jail! He was only about 10!!!! LOL

More Camping Pictures

There was about 80 people there! The food was unreal! They had s'mores every night and group games, Family Feud and Bingo. There was a good band there playing bluegrass and a lady with a harp that was really good. Larry and I did a very funny puppet routine of two USA Olympic synchronized swimmers with legs! Pictures of that to come.

Memorial Day Weekend

It was a great weekend away! We went camping in our Teardrop Trailer to Morton Wa. It is East of Centralia, at the base of mountains along a raging river. It was beautiful and refreshing. The rain soaked us a number of times. The sun teased us by warming us and then the clouds came and dumped rain and the thunder rumbled repeatedly. It was not really cold, so it was still bearable. There was about 80 people in the group and the food was awesome! My 2 brothers and nephew went with us. They had a great time too.
Note to HUSBAND, next time I suggest that the porta poddy be emptied BEFORE we travel home..... DO IT!!!! I should have made YOU clean it all up because YOU were the one who didn't want to bother emptying it at the park! THAT WAS NASTY!
The whole town of Packwood is a big flea market during the weekend. We found some really cool treasures. My feet were killing me after walking all day! It is crazy how expensive it is to eat at these places. One ear of corn, $5, a corn dog, $5... elephant ear $5, and we call it "fair" prices? NOT!
Will have pictures tomorrow.

X rated BEE sighting!

Since others have been talking about their BEE stories, I will share one. Last summer our daughter, Angela was in their back yard getting some plums out off their tree. All of a sudden she started jumping all around like a wild hog. She had a mad BEE up her pants leg and it was stinging her rear end!! She dropped her drawers right there and I was just dying laughing!!! We laughed about the show that neighbors must have gotten.
The next day, the house next door went up for sale and a few days later another went up for sale across the street. We claimed that it was all about her strip dance with the bee!!!! She will not be able to live that one down!!!!

Riley's Graduation from PreSchool

Congratulations Riley.... Pre-School graduation!!!!! Angela is having a hard time with making the decision to hold him back from Kindergarden due to his diabetes. She is thinking that it may be better for him. Everyone has their opinion, but I think they will do what is best for Riley. We are so proud of our big 5 year old grandson!!

Life is fragile!

Steven Curtis Chapman is a Christian artist that is known world wide for his songs, but today none of that matters. He has adopted 3 precious little girls from China and yesterday his teen son accidently hit the 5 year old when pulling into their driveway. She was killed. I can't even imagine the pain they are going through. Life is so fragile and you never know from moment to moment if you will have your next breath. Many people will be praying for this family and I will as well. I know it's hard to understand why something like this happened, but I do know this that God promises to give comfort when we face sorrow. So I post this in honor to this family who is broken right now in hopes that we will say some prayers for them and at the same time be thankful for every moment that we have with our precious little ones.

Nothing to blog about?

Are you kidding? As I was talking this morning I made the comment that I had nothing to blog about. I began to think about that and BAM!!! I thought about the millions in China that are dealing with death and destruction. I have a home to go home to and all my stuff is safe inside from the elements. I have 3 precious children that are living and 9 grandchildren that have a home and parents there to take care of them. I know where my husband is and know that he is safe and he has a job to go to and income to take care of us. I can drive anywhere I want and do not have to be afraid of landslides or disease. I have clothes to change as often as I choose and make up and snacks and a refrigerator with food in it. I have a pet that I can spoil with more food that some of these people have seen in a week.
And I have nothing to blog about? Shame on me! God, I am grateful for all that I have and I will not take it for granted.

Doggy Diapers and pads

Where is a dogs dignity? Diapers and time of the month pads? If only dogs could talk!!! Angela's dog is now a WOMAN and is sporting a diaper with her pads in place! Oh my, that's just wrong! I guess you just do what you have to do. However, I still think that somehow we have gone too far!!!!

Happy 31st Birthday Jason!!

Happy Birthay Pumpkin! Oh, can I still call you that when you are 31? Yep! My middle child! Just seems like yesterday that you were running around in a diaper with your little baseball and bat. I remember you learning how to hit the ball with the tire on a rope in the back yard. Great training tecnique! Just swing the ball and hit it through the tire! BAM! First Hit right between the eyes!!! I've never seen such an "egg head" After we quit laughing so hard we figured we had better make sure you were ok!! Then there was the special time when you were older and learning to drive! Oh my! It was a stick shift Ford Escort. Driving up Mile Hill and you freaked out because you saw cars coming down the other side of the road. You just put your hands up and scared the crap out of me. I had you pull into the center turn lane and said..."Get out, you are done" That was the last of the training that day! Lord, help me!
Then there was the time that you needed the truck and ran out of the house and almost ran into the truck on your way to the garage to get the bike to ride about 3 or 4 miles to your dads work to ask him if you could use the truck. He told you the truck was at home. That's when the picture of the truck flashed in your head that you almost hit it as you here leaving the house!! Great memories!!
The story of the run to the juvanile detention center is another priceless story!! Well, you turned out great inspite of all the troubles. You have been a great son and I am so very proud of you. You are fun to be around and a blessing to those who know you. You have a lot of fans in the radio industry and listeners, but your biggest fan is right here.... your momma!!! I love you!

C.S.I

I am a very big C.S.I. fan. I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but I love CSI and the show had a shocker ending.

Long Time Singer Song Writer Dies

Dottie Rambo, Singer and Songwriter, Dies at 74

Published: May 14, 2008
Dottie Rambo, a singer and prolific songwriter who was one of the most successful women to write songs in gospel music, died early Sunday when her tour bus ran off a highway near Mount Vernon, Mo. She was 74 and lived in Nashville.

Her death was announced by her daughter, Reba Rambo-McGuire, who is also a singer.

With songs recorded by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Vince Gill and Whitney Houston, and a busy recording and touring career of her own, Ms. Rambo has been ubiquitous in gospel since the early 1960s. Many of her songs have become hymnal standards, including “I Go to the Rock,” “We Shall Behold Him,” “I Will Glory in the Cross” and “He Looked Beyond My Fault (and Saw My Need),” which uses the tune of “Danny Boy.”

It was as a songwriter that Ms. Rambo had her greatest influence. She wrote more than 2,500 songs, according to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, which inducted her into its ranks last year. While she never crossed over to pop as a performer, her songs found mainstream exposure through other artists; Ms. Houston recorded “I Go to the Rock” for the soundtrack to her film “The Preacher’s Wife” in 1996.

I remember going to Dotty Rambo's concerts from my teen years. I saw her in concert in Port Orchard about 8 years ago. She was such a elegant woman. She had been through a lot of tough stuff, but her faith was strong as ever. She did one of the cutest children's songs...."Germ, my invisible dog"
She will be missed very much, but her songs and memory will live on.

Beautiful Day Saturday and Sunday!

Riley was such a riot for his birthday party! It was so fun to watch him and his friends soaking each other with the water soakers and dressing up in their hero costumes, and was having too much fun to bother with eating! Even the presents were just ho hum to the fun of playing together with his friends. When everyone gathered around to sing happy birthday, he was so embarrassed, slouched so far down into his chair that you almost couldn't see him! Angela did a great job hosting the BBQ. Tory did a great job with the new deck. The weather couldn't have been better! Great time with family. Riley is 5. Thank God for sparing his life. It's hard to watch him with this diabetes, but Tory and Angela are trying their best to keep him on track. We are very proud of them. We just keep praying that God will help them in this difficult task and pray for Riley to be healed of this disease.

Friends are the best

I remember a long time ago meeting my friend Tracy. I know that God pointed her out to me and so I introduced myself to her. We have had a lot of life things throught the years and God has allowed us to get some time together just when we needed it, like at Joann Fabrics and Walmart. Life is hard when you are walking the path alone, but when a friend joins hand with another, the link gets stronger. Tracy, when you read this I want you to know that I treasure our friendship. The pain of loosing your daughter, and then to almost loose your boys, having to giving up your granddaughter, and all the other pains of life. I come along side of you and will always be there praying for you and to cheer you along. Life is too short to be sad..... look for the JOY,it's there. Big Hugs! You are a treasure! Sweeter than honey!

It's Car Show Time!!!

Every year our church puts on a huge car show. This is our 12th year. I have been involved with the core planning committee about 10 of those years. It is a lot of hard work, but it is so awesome. This year my design for the T-shirt and theme was chosen. I am very excited! The theme is "Memory Lane" I think everyone will like it. The event is the 24th of August.

Recycled TP

OK, is it just me, or do you chuckle when you see a package of toilet paper that says 100% recycled? Even though I KNOW that it's not recycled from the john, I still laugh everytime I see that on a package of TP!!! It just gives me a funny picture of all of our waste being dried and recycled in to new butt wipes!! Come on, fess up!!! I don't think I am alone in this.... I'm just saying... I think we need to just put it out there and admit that we have all thought it!!! LOL

Husband out of Town....

What that means is trouble for me! I tend to spend way too much money when he is gone. It has "PROJECT" written all over friday and Saturday morning! This has been going on for many years. One time after we just moved into our current house, Larry and the boys went to a baseball game. While they were gone, Angela and I ripped out all the carpet in our front room. We just wanted to see what was under there! It was hardwood floors! We lifted it a bit and then a bit more and then we said, "Let's just tear it out!" Another time on one of my days off when Larry was working, I cut a big hole in my kitchen wall to make an opening to the living room. He gets a bit worried about being gone!!!! He should worry!!!

Hot Day a comin'

The weather is looking like it is going to be a hot one especially Saturday. Riley's 5th birthday party & BBQ is that day! It will be perfect! They have a huge back yard that will be filled with squirt guns, watermelon, hot dogs and balloons, dogs running and jumping on the trampolene. Yes, the dogs love to jump on the trampolene too! A great day to wear flip flops and tank tops!

The Shoe Episode

On Monday I had to go to the doctor and I had on my floral heels. It was so funny to see ladies looking at my shoes! I walked by this mom and her little girl and the little girl was pointing at my shoes and said "Look mommy, I like her shoes!" Oh boy is that mother in for trouble!

Then I stopped in at Home Depot to pick up some flowers. A lady stopped me and said "I have got to show my friend your shoes, do you mind?....Her friend came over and both were going nuts over my shoes!!! It was pretty funny! As I was going throught he checkout line, the two ladies came by again, "there's the lady with the hot shoes, maybe if we just bump her we can get her shoes!" They were kidding, but it was pretty funny!!!!

Larry didn't get it! He didn't think that people even look at people's shoes!!!
What does he know!!!! With us women, we know that the shoes and the purse is VERY important and we DO NOTICE!!!!!!

Mother's Day

What a wonderful relaxing Mother's Day. Angela and her family is the only one of my kids in Washington, so she was the only one I was able to be with. Both the boys live out of state, Jeremy in Illinois and Jason in Florida. They both called me and as usual made me cry! They both love to do that! (It doesn't take much, believe me!) I really miss the boys especially on Mother's Day. I miss getting their hugs.
We spent Saturday and Sunday with Angela. We didn't go anywhere, just hung out. We loved that. We got up on Sunday and sat and read the ads together. That is a fun thing for us. Angela got me a really pretty plant in a beautiful pot that said something about Mother's being a blessing that blooms forever. It is a flower that looks like an inside out orchid! It's very pretty. We played with the grandkids and played games. Then it was time to leave....the boys get really sad when we have to go. On the way home, Larry and I stopped in Lacy and had a very nice dinner at Applebee's. It was so very delicious. I have been having some trouble with my digestive system, so I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I could have. All the same it was a great time together.
Larry got me a beautiful Hydrangia plant that is really hearty and I can't wait to get it planted. He also got a bird bath for the front yard garden area. He also got me a new Bible that is Hot Pink and very stylish! I loved it.
I also went to Home Depot and got some more flowers to plant in my planters. It looks so awesome! Can't wait to sit outside and enjoy them.

I will get a call from the boys since they both live out of the area. Angela and I will get to spend some time together working on her garden. Anytime spent with her is good times! I have the greatest kids! I have been very blessed!

Mother's Day

To all the mother's.....God's Blessings! To my grandkids mother's.... I love you! I am so thankful for you. I pray that you get pampered on this special day to celebrate YOU! I am so thankful for my mother. She was such a light in my life. She taught me so much about living a happy peaceful life. She taught me how to make dinner from scratch and make it go a long ways. She taught me that life's joys is not based on having "stuff" and that money or the lack of money does not determine your happiness. She taught me the importance of loving your family and taking care of what you need. She taught me how to sew and how to cook. She taught me patience and discipline. That getting punished was good for me! She taught me how to love even though you don't agree with things the way they happen. She taught me that marriage is to be for the long haul and that it takes hard work to make it last a life time. She taught me about God and lived her life as an example of God's unconditional love and forgiveness. For all her sacrifices, I am so very thankful. I honor my mother, who is in Heaven. I miss you so much. Life isn't the same without you. I miss talking to you and I miss sharing life stuff with you. I know that I will see you again one day when we are reunited in Heaven. I look forward to that day! I love you momma.

Special gift

My Lar Bear gave me a sweet little pink heart with a little glass bear holding a pink flower. It says" Always In My Heart" I wonder if you know How special you are? You are so dear to me, Always in my Heart!" It was very sweet and he was so pleased to give it to me. He knows how I like pink and he loves to tell me how much he means to him. I am so blessed!

MY FAIR LADY

My Fair Lady! What an awesome production! We were sitting back a little ways on the main floor, but not that bad! The back drops and props were so real looking. I love watching the movie after I see a play because you see how close to the movie they come. All the actors did a great job. The couple we took with us had a great time too. We went to dinner afterwards. Got souvenirs from the show to display with my other plays that I have gone to. Can't wait until the next one!! Look at the the web site and watch the little video and get a glimps! http://www.myfairladythemusical.com/

Camping Equipment

Well, we went to Sportsman Warehouse the other night and we donated a bit of our paychecks! We had to get a new EZ-Up canopy for this summer as last year we broke ours. I just had to have a "BIGGER AND BETTER" one this time. Larry about had a cow when he saw how much it was. As Annie would say, "Nothing too good for a government worker".....
We also needed to replace our portable fireplace that quit working this past summer. We got a better one this time and yes, you guessed it, it cost more that the other one! I had to justify these purchases to Larry! Camping is just not good without a campfire and with all the burn bans, you just have to have those gas portable fire pits. It's a great crowd pleaser when you are the only one with a fire going!!

It's Friday!!! Yippie Kiyah

It's a great day! It's Friday! It has been a long week!
Today was a KFC day with the girls. Wow, it was so good!

Lunch time is way too short. We had to swallow our lunch
so fast that we will probably all have indigestion!
