A finger lickin' surprise!

Ok, no gagging people, but Sunday's dinner out was a bit of a surprise! I ordered a meal

that I have gotten many times before at a restaurant that we go to 3 to 4 times a month.

Ordered my Mexican Pizza and started to eat it and all of a sudden I spot a foreign object

that wasn't easily explained. I shoved it with my fork and tried to spread it out to check

the size of it. It looked like part of a balloon. I tried to cut it thinking I was just imagining this.

It didn't cut! I called a waiter over to ask him what it was. He picked it up.... and stretched it!

It was the tip of someones rubber glove. Now, I am glad that they are wearing gloves, don't get me wrong, but I DON'T want their glove in my food. Wouldn't you know when a piece of your glove came off and you would look to see if it was in the food you were preparing? I was really grossed out by this. I kept finding something in my mouth that felt rubbery! Ughhhhhh.... They took my plate and made me a new dinner. I didn't eat very much, but when the new one came I was still having a hard time eating. I didn't take but a few bites and I was done!

They didn't charge me for my meal (dah) and the waiter was really trying to make me feel better. I could see that he was having a hard time not laughing. He is a little sweetie and we have always liked him. He kept apologizing. He told me to try to forget it. Easy for you to say bucko!!!

PINK SATURDAY!!!!

This is my first Pink Saturday post. I haven't signed up yet, but thought I would post anyway. Vintage Nest introduced me to this and I love it. It IS my favorite color! I am sure my new office will be decorated in Pink! I'm sure all the engineers will LOVE that!! Well, here is my pink picture for today. If you have been reading my posts this week, you know that I got a new job and had my interview on Monday. I didn't know until I came in to work on Monday that I was going to have an interview that afternoon. I wanted to go home and change. Of all days to wear jeans! I debated and decided that they would just have to take me as I was. I love to dress nice for work, but most don't where I work. I love to wear heels and match my purse to what I am wearing. (That is why I am addicted to shoes and purses! Well, what color do you think I was wearing on Monday? Yep... My favorite Hot pink color. I had on a hot pink t-shirt with sparkle! My purse and shoes were hot pink along with my hot pink nail polish!

When I went for the interview I made sure that my hot pink bag was right there in full view! I think that it was the accessories that cinched the deal!! Well, maybe not, but it was fun to think that!

In loving Memory of BUDDY!

My poor brother called me this morning with more sad news. His BUDDY died yesterday. He has had him for over 18 years and he has been such a great friend for my single brother. A few months ago he almost had him put down because he was staggering all over and couldn't walk. Vet said that he could run tests but the dollar amount was unreal. My brother just couldn't afford it no matter how much he loved Buddy. He sat there with Buddy trying to decide if he should just have him put down. It was so hard to see my brother sit there holding Buddy and sobbing!!! We decided to take Buddy home and let him live out his days by his side. Yesterday was his day to go and it was very sad. This has been a very tough week for my bro with his old car burning up and now his Buddy. My heart goes out to him. I told him to brace himself for blow number 3! It made him laugh and that's good. I am just praying for something good to encourage him so he isn't so sad. He's such a good guy and it is hard on his ticker to have so much hit him like this.

He will try to find a new buddy to keep him company.

2008 OLYMPICS!!!

I love that Google made a cute icon today!

I love the Olympics! It is so awesome to see all the sports compete. I like the Winter Olympics more because of the ice skating and snow events, but I enjoy watching the swimming and gymnastics as well.
The opening ceremony and closing ceremonies are always so spectacular.
Sometimes they get a bit weird, but I love the awesome
things that they come up with!

Yay, it's Friday! This week seemed to go by pretty fast and I am looking forward to having two days off. Isn't it funny that we get so happy on Friday. I love that the traffic is less on Friday and everyone seems to be in a better mood than at the beginning of the week. It's a good feeling to know that you can relax and do all those things that you can't get to on a work night. Sad thing is that it is usually things like cleaning house and doing laundry!!! The fact of the matter is that you are still home and you can put on the music and be in your comfy clothes and no shoes! I love it!

Thankful Thursday!

I am so thankful for the excitement of my new job.
I have been thinking of how I am going to decorate my new office. (I love to decorate!) I love making it feel like home. I am sure the color will include PINK!!!

I got an email today from the new boss and she said "I
will get you here even if I have to come down there to pick each of you up and carry you back." She is really nice and I already really like her.

Sad day for my brother

I just got a call from my brother and he is out on the road right now with his 1948 Pontiac having just caught fire. He is just sick as this car has been so fun for him to have and he loves driving it and pulling his Vintage Teardrop Trailer, going to car shows and vintage trailer rallies. He said it is toasted. How sad. I really feel bad for him, I know how hard this is for him. :-(

Parting is sweet sorrow!

Today began the reality of how hard it is going to be to leave people that I have become very close to. As I walked around today and people began to hear that I will be leaving, their response was warming to my heart, but made me appreciate the people I have work around. I really would hate to leave and have no one really care, or worse, that they would celebrate my departure! I have had so many wonderful fun times working for this group for the last 4 years. We have had great memories both in the office and our girls night out, our summer picnics, birthday celebrations, lunches, silent auctions and Christmas dinner parties. I am glad that I will be able to stay close to some through this blog, but I will miss the day to day good times together. Tiffany, what ever will I do without the meal planner and the weather girl? Sam, I will miss working side by side with you. We have laughed and cried over silly things, sad things and stupid things!!! I will miss that more than I can say. Nicole, who will I show off my new shoes to?
I will miss all of you so much! Time to move on and take on a new adventure. Hugs to my office friends! You have all brought joy to my life!

New Position!

I am very excited today as I had an interview for a new position. It is a promotion with another part of the shipyard. I had a great interview for an hour and a half. It was actually fun. She told me that she would love to have me work with them if I wanted the position. I will be the admin for 59 engineers. They have never had anyone to take care of them, so they will be overjoyed to have the support person. I know it's not a huge jump, but the place I am in has no place to move up. I am very thankful for God answering my prayer today. This past weekend I had asked God for favor and that if it was His will that He would open the door. I am excited for the new opportunity!

PUPPIES, PUPPIES, PUPPIES!!!

The puppies came all night Saturday night. Angela and her husband sat up all night with Maggie delivering 8 puppies. The last being born at 4am. They are all adorable. All look like Maggie and one like the daddy. We took off on Sunday to see the kids!! Maggie was so proud of her little ones! She jumped up to tell us all about them! One of the puppies was born with no nose.... very sad. They took him to the vet and the the vet said that he wouldn't make it because he couldn't breath to eat or drink. Poor little thing. He didn't make it. So there are 7 very healthy puppies. 4 girls and 3 boys. They have beautiful markings. Will insert pictures as I get them.
